Research Abstract

A strange toolbar app that promises to turn unused CPU cycles into a "luckiness field" around a personal computer. In reality, it is a Trojan malware system connected to server corruptions present on a number of servers and personal computers. Lucky 5 drives its activities off of a data file that looks suspiciously like a corrupted prayer to Yog-Sothoth, a prayer also found on the corrupted servers including the Sentry Outpost. "Oblation" files in the server corruptions mention both the Chorazos Cult and Spukhafte Fernwirkung, and understanding how the application worked was key to the Sentries discovering the scene of a ritual in Atlanta.

Speculation

Reported side effects of exposure to a Lucky 5 installation are indicative of some cancers and environmentally-caused neurological conditions, leading to speculation that it might produce subliminal light patterns or increased levels of radiation from computer monitors. Since Lucky 5 operates off an encrypted prayer to Yog-Sothoth with a ritualistic component, it is theorized Lucky 5 infected machines "chant" these prayers as part of some larger plan.
