Research Abstract

An unknown number of people around the world share nightly in the experience of a collective nightmare dominated by the scene of a city erupting into chaos. Originally encountered through the dream journals of B.A. Saint-Feline, her nightmare was populated by other repetitive figures, many of whom proved to be associated with other Dreamers experiencing the same nightmare such as Devon Conrad. These Dreamers remember not just their Nightmare, but are also aware that they are sharing it with other people and communicating with each other while dreaming.

Speculation

The Nightmare landscape and events are the same each night, but also different each time a Dreamer experiences it, suggesting an ebb and flow of the horror of the Nightmare connected to other events and forces. Frequently B.A.'s dreams of the Nightmare show more control than other Dreamers, occasionally with clairvoyant or prophetic overtones.
